The most modern athletic stadium in our country has launched its operation. The venue of an imposing athletics event called Ostrava Golden Spike is ready.

The Golden Spike opening is scheduled this year on May 26 and the new reconstructed Ostrava City stadium soon welcome the biggest world athletes including Jamaican superstar Usain Bolt. This unforgettable sportsman is going to run 200 m sprint and being interviewed he is looking forward to seeing the new stadium and running the distance in the best time possible.

The Ostrava sports venue, where should be held also matches of Baník Ostrava football club, just finished its 5-year reconstruction. The open concrete stadium has changed into enclosed snug site with the capacity of 15 000 spectators. The Kovostal seats, model DUBAI, represent the integral part of the whole reconstruction. The bright blue tip-up plastic seat is fixed into the stepriser. The reconstruction was divided into two phases, in the first phase we supplied the east grandstand, in the follow-up one other parts of the stadium got the new look.
